Linton S. Johnson II is President and CEO of Word Express LLC, an Elberton, Ga.-based communications and political consulting firm with clients in every corner of Georgia. Johnson provides a broad range of services for the 42,000-member State Bar of Georgia and a number of other public relations clients.

He served as communications director for the successful statewide campaigns of Georgia Supreme Court Justices Carol W. Hunstein (the current Chief Justice) in 2006 and David E. Nahmias in 2010 and provides campaign and constituent communications services for more than 25 current members of the Georgia General Assembly.

Johnson, 52, started Word Express in 2003 following three years as Vice President/Public Relations for Cornerstone Communications Group in Atlanta, where he managed the firm’s work with the statewide Cancer Awareness Campaign for the Georgia Department of Human Resources, the West Georgia Watershed Assessment, the Buckhead Community Improvement District, the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety Click It or Ticket program and several other public and private entities.

A lifelong Georgian, he entered the public relations field in 2000 following 23 years in the newspaper profession as a reporter, editor and publisher at the daily newspapers in Athens and Augusta and the weekly newspapers in Royston and Elberton. He worked as a sportswriter at the Athens Banner-Herald & Daily News while a student at the University of Georgia from 1977 to 1982.
